There's a big gap between understanding the concept of unconditional love and actually living it. So unconditional love is basically a love that exists beyond circumstance or preconceived notions. It just "is."

You can understand the concept and even agree with it, but still think thoughts and take actions that are contrary to that. And likewise, you can do loving things and practice self-care and still not completely buy into the idea of self love or think that you're worth it and have resistance around it. It's important to understand that all of the pillars, self care and all of the others, are designed to create a conducive environment for love to flow through you. And today, I want to share a very simple exercise to explore this space between unconditional love, the idea or the concept of it and the actual being of it.

Because it's not an idea. And it's not an action either. Love is this state of being. t is this kind of isn't it and all pervasive energy.

The exercise is very simple. What you're going to do is just sit quietly, take a few deep breaths for yourself and let your mind chatter quiet down as much as you're able. Nowhere to be. Nothing else to do. And when you find a bit of quietude, what you're going to do is echo in your mind, a very simple statement. You're going to echo into your mind saying, "I love myself unconditionally." And give a pause and notice what happens in your mind.

Maybe there's a story around that. Maybe there's a doubt. Maybe there's an acceptance of that. Notice also in your body. What do you feel? Do you feel resistance? Do you feel kind of a crunchy or a tight area around that.

Notice in your energy, if you feel an expansiveness or a tightness or something, trying to resist that and all of the subtle layers. And then after about 10 seconds or so, echo that same statement again, "I love myself unconditionally." And notice again, what comes up for you.

After you do that, maybe 10, 15 times go ahead and pull out your journal, and write down what came up for you and notice also how you feel. What is different from before you started to, when you completed. Note all of that in your journal.
This is an exercise that you can pull out any time you want in order to get within the flow of Self Love. What this does is to reveal those areas where we tend to resist this idea and then let the love into those areas and let it flow more freely within us.
