Knowledge is power, but not in the way most people think.

I'm a voracious learner. Mostly out of necessity. I come from a family of smart, willful humans, so part of it is a survival instinct.

I also have more ideas than I know what to do with, and most of them require some kind of specific knowledge or skill. So I learn as fast and as best as I can to keep up with my own brain.

Yet learning can also be a trap.

In personal development especially, I've seen so many people reading endless books, taking endless courses, learning countless methods in order to "improve" themselves in some way.

It's important to be clear about the REAL goal here.

It's not to become more productive. It's to feel better about your productivity.

It's not to become a better version of yourself, it's to have more peace with who and what you are.

It's not to be kinder or more giving, it's to be happier.

It's about improving your experience of life.

And that's something I can really get behind. I mean, where here. We're together on this planet, hurtling through space and time. We may as well make the most of it.

And this is where learning can really mess us up and miss the mark.

Let me explain.

The purpose of learning isn't to fill your head with other peoples ideas. Not to say that those aren't valuable. Or that those people aren't smart.

It's to say simply that they're not YOU.

The real value of learning isn't to learn the answers, it's to ask better questions.

To look at yourself and the world from a new perspective.

When you're looking for answers, you're looking to adopt someone else's ideas, whether you realize it or not. To check it off your list.
But life isn't about answers. It's about experiences. That's where we'll find real freedom. Lasting freedom.

So read.
Learn.
Examine.
Explore.

But never forget that the injection of information is only there to bring out something that was already in you. Remember that the root of the word educate means to draw out.

Stay true to the spirit of education and rather than being trapped by answers, let yourself be freed by insight, curiosity, and the humility to recognize when it's time to decide differently.

That's the difference between real education and an endless information safari.

Ā I hope you enjoy it and have an amazing day.
