Daily Mystic Messages - Cosmic Deadline?
By some accounts of metaphysicians, the human race is as much as 18,000 years behind on the evolution schedule. The evolution schedule is basically the idea that we are evolving or meant to evolve in sync with the universe itself.
Now whether you buy into these numbers or not, it's safe to say that our internal evolution has not kept pace with our technological evolution. Otherwise we wouldn't be seeing the epidemics of stress and anxiety along with the breakdown of our physical health after just a mere six to eight decades of living.
It seems that we humans are particularly prone to being distracted by day-to-day life and the world that we live in. Spiritual development is put off until later, when we "Have the time and the space" to pursue these more lofty goals. We tend to address the loudest problems or annoyances in our lives before we get to the subtle layers yet...
It's the subtle layers, which have the most profound influence on the physical world that we live in. So over a couple hundred millennia with that level of distraction, it's easy to see how we could fall 18,000 years behind or so. But we are catching up and before you start stressing about the time crunch and what's going to happen to our world, I just want to remind you that you're here right now.
You're taking part in a course on self-love and you're doing your part. That's amazing. Enlightenment is ultimately about forming a proper relationship with ourselves and the world that we live in. To see ourselves and the experiences of life itself for what it is; nothing more and nothing less. And if you believe the galaxy of sages and saints who have proclaimed this truth, once you have "Realized" this truth, you enter into a state of transcendent and everlasting bliss. You're unbothered by anything or anyone in the world because you understand it for what it is.
I don't know about you, but that seems like a worthy endeavor to me. And so our work continues because there is no greater goal than the ultimate expression of unconditional love and no better laboratory to develop that skill than inside your own head and heart. Thanks for being here.
