You’re probably well aware of what it feels like to fall backward. Things are going great and then the wheels come off.
There’s a feeling of loss, and hopelessness of being back at square one.
One step forward, two steps back as the saying goes.
But what if you flip the script on that. And look at every setback as a new opportunity. Rather than falling back, now you’re falling forward.
It might look or feel a little awkward, but I guarantee that it’s going to get you where you want to go a lot faster the one step forward, two steps back dance.
The trick is in the pause.
So often when a problem comes up, we skip right to fixing mode. Trying to put another fire out.
Instead, take a deep breath and ask yourself this, “what if this is exactly what I needed?”
All of a sudden your brain is looking for gifts and opportunities. You start to allow things to show up in a different way; a more gentle, graceful manner, rather than stressing out with your hair on fire.
This isn’t just a mind game. It’s not a little lie you tell yourself to feel better, and I’ll tell you why.
Because when you have a desire- a dream, a goal, a project- and you set that in motion, the universe will respond to that. It won’t “test” you and play games with you to see if you really want it. It’ll actually set things in motion to manifest that in your life.
Now, the trouble comes in because your mind has a limited idea about what your manifestation is supposed to look like and how it’s supposed to show up. But that’s just one of many many possibilities. And the universe is not just smarter than you, but is INFINITE intelligence. AND it will seek to manifest that thing in through the path of least resistance; The fastest easiest way it can.
Or something even better that you can’t even see from your limited vantage point.
So a little trust is in order. Just enough faith to ask a different question, and start to explore what’s happening with a fresh perspective.
Thus the pause.
And the breath.
And the assumption that the Universe is listening and has your back.
So, the next time you feel like you’re falling back, say to yourself, “hmmm…this must be exactly what I needed.”
Fall forward instead.
And take another step.
