Time is a made-up concept.
It's a man-made idea and in our brains, we often have a very different idea of time than our actual experience. So when you're in the concept of time, when you're thinking about time, you're usually NOT just thinking ‘I have plenty of time. There's always more time, I can make as much time as I need.’
Our conversation regarding time is usually about lack and it's about working against the clock and fighting for the deadline.
Yet when you're actually grounded, fully embodied, and in the flow, time passes very differently. You can see this in Einstein's example where he says, “A minute with your hand on a hot stove, seems like an hour and an hour with your beloved seems like a minute."
We have this very different experience of time as we move through our lives. But what if you could bend time and create as much of it as you want?
You are the source of time.
Gay Hendricks talked about this in his book, ‘The Big Leap’. And if you want to hear more about it, you can either pick up the book or you can go listen to our illumination podcast. In this episode, I'll add the link below.
When you assume that you are the source of time and you can create as much of it as you want, you can actually start to bend time and make it do what you want it to do because you're the one who is the creator of that.
The very best technique to get you into this flow is actually the breathing exercise. It's the 6-3 breathing exercise that I taught in the Energy Basics course. If you're not using that or not familiar with it, that is definitely something you want to go back and revisit.
In a nutshell, you put the tip of the tongue at the roof of your mouth. You breathe in for six counts through your nose, and then you hold for three, and then you breathe out for six counts through your nose, you hold for three and you keep repeating that.
You can do this in little snippets throughout the day, but if you can bring this into your work and use it as you're working, or whatever it is that you're doing in your life, you actually will have a much more grounded and embodied experience and you'll have greater control over time and how it passes.
I know this sounds wild, but it's a really fun thing to play with and I'm offering it here because I think it's important for us to get out of this traumatic relationship that we have with time and this race against the clock. So play around with it today and let me know what you discover.
